Admissions
We’re excited you’re considering Trent View College, a place where individual differences are celebrated and aspirations are supported. This page outlines the steps involved in our admissions process. We encourage you to explore our website to learn more about our curriculum, vocational learning options, and specialist facilities.
Admissions Process: A Step-by-Step Guide
Students require an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) to attend Trent View College. The process involves the following key stages:
-
Discussions about post-16 provisions, including Trent View College, will begin during Annual Review meetings from Year 10 onwards.
-
Following the Annual Review, the local authority EHCP team will send a formal consultation to Trent View College. We will then determine if we can meet the young person’s needs as detailed in their EHCP, or if further information is required.
-
If additional information is needed, a member of the Trent View College team will observe the young person in their current educational setting or at home. Following this observation, a recommendation will be made regarding whether Trent View College can meet the young person’s needs.
-
The EHCP team will make a decision to name Trent View College on the young person’s EHCP and confirm whether a place can be offered.
Transition and Enrollment:
Once Trent View College is named on the young person’s EHCP, we will schedule transition mornings/afternoons to help prepare them for starting full-time in September.
Pre-Start Meeting:
Before your young person starts full-time in September, a member of our Senior Leadership Team will arrange a meeting with parents/carers to complete the necessary paperwork, including:
- Admissions Pack (including medical needs and consent for administering medication, where appropriate)
- 16-19 Bursary application form (where appropriate)
- Emergency contact details for yourself and anyone else with Parental Responsibility (PR)
Please note: All admissions paperwork must be signed by an adult with Parental Responsibility.
